Joel is responsible for buying spruce/fir logs & treelength high-grade direct to Stratton Lumber, Moose River Lumber and Fontaine sawmills as well as into our East Newport, Passadumkeag, Skowhegan & Millinocket, Maine Log Yards.  Additionally he is responsible for the marketing of the sawmill residuals (chips, bark, sawdust) for our Stratton Lumber & Moose River Lumber sawmills. Joel has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science with a emphasis in forestry from Unity College and is a Licensed Forester & Wood Scaler; a Registered Maine Guide & a Class A CDL Operator. His  experience includes working as a Procurement Forester, Fleet Management, and General Manager/Owner for several companies in Maine during his 30 year involvement in the forest products industry in New England, including working for procuring for TRG & Fontaine sawmills from 1996 - 2002. Joel is our newest member of the team (and we welcome him back) in November 2025

Taylor is TRG's Log Buyer covering Maine.  He is responsible for buying spruce/fir directly to our Stratton Lumber and Moose River Lumber sawmills as well as our Log Yards in Maine.  Taylor is a Licensed Wood Scaler and has worked for various hardwood and softwood sawmills  as a Log Buyer, Log Scaler & Crane Operator.  He as an Associates Degree of Applied Science from Central Maine Community College.

Craig is responsible for buying spruce/fir logs directly into the Fontaine sawmill from northern NH/VT/NY, into our Log Yards in East Burke, VT & Pittsburg, NH and from roadside jobs. Craig is TRG's Log Sales Manager responsible for selling hardwood logs from our East Burke and Hardwick Log Yards.  TRG markets most all hardwood species & grades including hard & red maple, white ash, yellow & white birch, red oak, cherry and others. Craig received his A.S. degree in Forestry from berlin Technical College in Berlin, NH nad has worked for TRG since 2002.

Eric is responsible for buying spruce & fir and hardwood logs into our Hardwick, VT Log Yard. In addition Eric scales/grades and operates the Hardwick Log Yard.  Eric graduated from the Green Mountain Technical Career Center in Hardwick, VT and has worked in the forestry & sawmill industry for over 20 years.

John Rounds is the Log Buyer for northern NH  as well as central and southern VT, northern MA , eastern NY and as far south as PA. He buys into our extensive network of Log Yards in NH, VT, NY and directly from roadside jobs throughout New England & NY. John's experience in the forest products industry is extensive in log procurement, log scaling/grading and operation of log yards.  John is Licensed Wood Scaler and is well known and respected in the New England and New York area. 

Maison Owen
Log Yard Operator/Log Scaler

Maison is a graduate of Lyndon Institute in Lyndonville, Vermont. He completed his senior year in high school internship working in our East Burke Log Yard. He is experienced in welding, mechanics and grew up in a family involved in the forest products industry. He fills in as needed both log loader operating and log scaling in our Vermont Log Yards. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities including snow machining, agriculture and 4-wheeling.
